Product notes

The José Zuccardi Malbec comes from two exceptional terroirs in the Uco Valley. The Malbec (95%) is sourced from Paraje Altamira, at 1,100 meters altitude, on alluvial soils rich in limestone. This terroir imparts finesse, freshness, and a pronounced minerality to the wine. The Cabernet Sauvignon (5%), grown in Gualtallary (1,360 meters), contributes structure, tension, and complexity.

Production notes

Vinification by cluster selection. Concrete tanks filled by gravity and fermentation with native yeasts. Maceration for 20 days with daily punching down and délestage (rack and return). The wine was aged approximately 24 months in large oak vats (foudres). Unfiltered, then bottled.

Tasting notes

The José Zuccardi Malbec shows a deep color with violet highlights. On the nose, it reveals a beautiful aromatic complexity, blending notes of ripe black fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant, floral hints (notably violet), sweet spices, and a subtle mineral touch reminiscent of limestone. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with fine and silky tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, precise finish marked by elegant fruit and a slightly smoky touch. It is best served between 16 and 18 °C and pairs perfectly with roasted rack of lamb, grilled meats, beef stew, or aged cheeses like Comté or Manchego.
