Château La Patache was acquired by Peter Kwok and his son Howard in 2012. The Château is located in the Pomerol lieu-dit La Patache appellation and is spread over 9 plots, totaling 3.18 hectares. The plots are found on soils of great variety and complexity - a terroir made up of fine gravel with iron grime and a clay subsoil. La Patache is a locality on the national 89 (Bordeaux-Lyon), whose name evokes the kind of diligence that used to pass there. Indeed, "the pataches" were in the 19th century, horse-drawn carriages which served as stagecoaches in the countryside. The place called La Patache in Pomerol is mentioned from the publication of the first Napoleonic maps. The original stone buildings were in fact at the time the old coaching inn at the entrance to Libourne. It is in the old stables renovated in 2012 that a modern vat room and cellars have been installed. The old postal building has been converted into a barrel cellar.
