About this winery
The origin of the estate dates back to 1638. At the time, Léoville was the largest Médoc property, divided over time and generations. Léoville Poyferré will initiate the legend of this great wine in 1840 and will be consecrated fifteen years later Second Grand Cru Classé. Didier Cuvelier will preside over the destinies of this jewel in 1979.

Production notes
The grapes are picked by hand in crates and sorted in the vineyard to ensure the quality of the harvest. Vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Egg white bonding. Filtration. Aging 18 months in barrels renewed each year at 30%. Egg white bonding. Filtration.
Tasting notes
Dark ruby in color with some garnet reflections, the wine presents a rich and intense nose with aromas of ripe fruit with round and silky tannins. It is a wine that can be drunk young, but will nevertheless be even better after a few years of aging. Pairings of red meat, duck breast.
