About this winery
El Coto de Rioja is organized as if it were twelve small wineries. Each one with the optimum conditions for its job, where each part of the process is handled independently. Production notes
Harvest: Manual harvest, end of September. Vinification: The tempranillo ferments in the cellar of Oyón, in tanks (with a capacity varying from 30,000 to 45,000 liters). The operation uses the latest technology to ensure strict control of fermentation and maceration temperatures and color extraction, in order to achieve the right balance. Aging: The wine spends at least twelve months in American oak barrels with a capacity of 225 liters and at least six other months in bottle before marketing.
Tasting notes
Tasting notes: Ruby color. The fruity bouquet is well preserved and is accompanied by typical notes of liquorice from the oak as well as a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is balanced, silky and velvety with good intensity. Wine and food pairing: A choice accompaniment for white meats, pasta, fish (depending on the type and sauce; salted cod is particularly good), pizza, veal, chorizo and light cheeses.
