Product notes

South of the Rhône valley, in the municipalities of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Orange, Bédarrides, Sorgues and Courthézon in the Vaucluse. Shallow and very stony, the soil is mainly composed of large, round quartz pebbles in red sandy clay.

Production notes

Manual harvest. The vinification is traditional. Maceration of the raisins in thermo-regulated vats for a fortnight. Vatting during which pumping-over and unballasting are carried out in an optimal way. Each grape variety is vinified separately. The wine is assembled before aging. Aging 15 months in oak barrels on fine lees.

Tasting notes

Deep purple color with amber reflections. Grenache dominates the nose with notes of strawberries, orange marmalade and candied fruits. The palate is rich, almost opulent in the attack, but the Syrah gives it tension and precision. Aging in barrels softened the tannins and enriched the bouquet with vanilla and roasted notes. Pairs well with tasty meats such as roast lamb, prime rib, duck breast or game birds.
