About this winery

Jamieson Ranch Vineyards was founded in 2011. The winery is named after historic breeder John Brocklebank Jameson, who helped colonize Napa Valley. Today, the vineyard pays homage to the rich breeding tradition of Napa Valley and the American West through its wines, double lariat (double lasso) and Reata (Lariat). The brands, Whiplash and Light Horse, celebrate the horses that played an important role in making Napa Valley and the American West what it is today.

Product notes

The soils are deep, moist, cool; the vines are at sea level; generally cool climate with windy afternoons.

Production notes

Harvest by hand from mid-September to the end of September. Vinification in the cellar, more than 50% of the wine is fermented in barrels, then passed through malolactic fermentation and received on fine lees in batonnage. Aging 9 months on 50% new French oak.

Tasting notes

This friendly Chardonnay features aromas of fresh, juicy fruit and flavors of apple blossom, honeydew melon, guava and grapefruit zest. The creamy texture and rich toasty oak flavors are framed by crisp acidity that uplifts the fruit and leaves a lingering finish that makes you want more. This wine is the perfect complement to light salads, pastas and pizzas, as well as shellfish, grilled fish and grilled chicken.
