About this winery

Passionate about its terroir, Merlot and great wines, the Trocard family has maintained an exceptional vineyard for 14 generations located in the heart of Libournais (Saint-Émilion, Pomerol). Concentrated on only a few hectares in the 18th century, the family vineyards experienced a real boost under the impetus of Jean Trocard who in 1945 gave free rein to his talents as a great winemaker. Production notes

Manual harvest. Long vatting of around 4 weeks. Cold pre-fermentation. 60% of the vinification is in new barrels. Vinification according to Bordeaux tradition, with a maceration period of 4-5 weeks. Aging 18 months in stave oak barrels, 60% of which are new.

Tasting notes

Deep red color. The rich nose is based on notes of ripe red fruits, as well as a delicate woody note on peppery and vanilla notes. Its great complexity, typical, juggles freshness, roundness and voluptuousness. The palate remains smooth, creamy, with a nice velvet touch. The mid-palate quickly gains fullness and delicacy. Nice balance. Very long and aromatic persistence on the fruit. Goes perfectly with beef bourguignon, duck breast, pork tenderloin and mushroom sauce.
