About this winery
Passionate about its terroir, Merlot and great wines, the Trocard family has maintained an exceptional vineyard for 14 generations located in the heart of Libournais (Saint-Émilion, Pomerol). Concentrated on only a few hectares in the 18th century, the family vineyards experienced a real boost under the impetus of Jean Trocard who in 1945 gave free rein to his talents as a great winemaker. Product notes
This vintage comes from an eleven hectare family property in the heart of the town of Lalande-de-Pomerol. - Soil and terroir: Graves. - Average age of the vines: 30 years.
Production notes
Green harvest. Harvest in mid-September, by hand. Sorting on the table. - Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation for three weeks. Malolactic fermentation in tanks. - Aging: Fourteen months in barrels, 25% of which are new.
Tasting notes
The nose is pure, fine and complex with dominant notes of ripe fruit (plums, bigarreau cherries). The wood is present thanks to the toasted and toasted notes. On the palate, the attack is very beautiful, the mouth is constructed, the middle is full, it is juicy, and the tannic material is like velvet. Nice length! - You will taste it with pleasure on red or white meats, game birds, light cheeses.
