About this winery

Robert Villepigue, director of Château Figeac from 1905 to 1928 then owner of Château Cadet Piolat had the idea of creating a cooperative winery in Saint-Emilion in the 1930s. In 1966, the winery was recognized as a producer group. Its activity then extended to the 8 communes of the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) "Saint-Emilion" Today, the Union of Producers represents more than 12% of all AOC Saint-Emilion.

Production notes

Plot harvest by grape variety. Vinification by optical sorting, gravity vatting in stainless steel vats. Cold pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation 25-30 days. Malolactic fermentation in vats. Aging 12-14 months in French oak barrels (30% new).

Tasting notes

With a magnificent deep garnet color, the nose is intense with notes of blackcurrant, vanilla and undergrowth. The palate is rich and spicy, giving the palate a generous structure and a good length. Goes wonderfully with a hare stew or a heather rooster in a casserole dish with grapes.
