Product notes
Soil and terroir: Very steep vines in a granite hillside. Average age of the vines: Between 20 and 80 years. This wine comes from a monopoly of the contiguous flagships of the Saint-Joseph appellation from two estates. It is the unique expression of the most impressive and exclusive hillside of the Saint-Joseph appellation.
Production notes
Vinification by controlling alcoholic fermentation and temperatures up to 33 ° C. Aging in new oak barrels for 30 months.
Tasting notes
Dark red color. Complex nose dominated by dark fruits and delicate aromas of new wood. The nose is powerful and intense. The attack on the palate is powerful. The tannins are powerful but remain fine and elegant. Coming from a geological formation comparable to the famous Bessards hill in Hermitage, this Saint-Joseph has the finesse of its appellation and the power of its neighbor facing the river. Perfect match with red meats, game and cheeses.
