Product notes
The terroir of Baron de Ley Blanco Sobre Lías is located in the Rioja region, on well-drained clay-limestone soils. This terroir benefits from a Mediterranean continental climate, with hot, dry summers and cool nights, promoting freshness and aromatic complexity in the grapes. The optimal vineyard exposure and moderate altitude contribute to the balance between acidity and ripeness, characteristic of this white wine.
Production notes
Baron de Ley Blanco Sobre Lías is crafted with great care starting from the harvest, which is done manually to preserve the integrity of the grapes. The clusters, mainly Viura, are carefully sorted before gentle pressing to extract clear and delicate juices. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve freshness and fruity aromas. After fermentation, the wine is aged on fine lees for several months, with regular stirring to add roundness, complexity, and a slight creamy texture. This process helps develop aromatic richness while maintaining the purity of the fruit and the wine’s liveliness, without any oak aging to preserve its natural freshness.
Tasting notes
Baron de Ley Blanco Sobre Lías shows a pale yellow color with bright green highlights. On the nose, it reveals fresh and elegant aromas of white fruits such as apple and pear, accompanied by floral notes and a slight buttery touch thanks to the lees aging. On the palate, it is lively and balanced, with good freshness and a slightly creamy texture that adds roundness. The finish is clean and persistent, marked by fruity flavors and a mineral touch. It is recommended to serve this wine between 10°C and 12°C. It pairs perfectly with seafood, grilled fish, poultry in light sauces, or fresh cheeses.
