About this winery

It was in 1985 in Mendavia that Barón de Ley settled in an old monastery, in the Navarrese region of DOCa Rioja. The cellar has positioned itself as a specialist in long-aging wines thanks to its Reservas and Grandes Reservas.

Product notes

Baron de Ley Semi Dulce comes from the Finca Carbonera, located at an altitude between 700 and 950 meters in the Rioja DOCa region. This terroir benefits from a continental climate with Atlantic influences, promoting a slow and gradual ripening of the grapes. The mineral-rich clay-limestone soils bring freshness and finesse to the wine, while the altitude helps preserve the natural acidity and aromatic purity of the Sauvignon Blanc.

Production notes

This wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes carefully hand-harvested at optimal ripeness. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place at a low temperature. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting notes

Baron de Ley Semi Dulce shows a pale yellow color with green reflections. On the nose, it reveals fresh aromas of tropical fruits and citrus, accompanied by delicate floral notes. On the palate, the attack is soft and balanced, with nice freshness and a slight liveliness. Serve chilled between 8 and 10 °C. It pairs perfectly with light dishes such as seafood, grilled fish, or fresh cheeses.
