About this winery
Col d’Orcia literally means the hill overlooking the Orcia River. The Orcia River marks the South West border of the Brunello di Montalcino territory and the name of the farm is intrinsically linked to the physical location were the vineyards are planted. It is the mission of Col d’Orcia to produce the best possible wines that the exceptional combination of soil and climate of this part of Montalcino can achieve.

Product notes
The vineyards are planted on well-exposed hillsides of Montalcino, benefiting from soil rich in clay and limestone, ideal for Sangiovese. The Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and cool nights, allows for slow ripening that promotes a balance between power and freshness.
Production notes
Hand-harvested at full ripeness. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Extended maceration for optimal extraction. Aging in French oak barrels for several months. Regular rackings and quality control throughout the process.
Tasting notes
Ruby red with violet reflections. The intense and complex aromas evoke ripe red berries and plum jam, followed by toasted and vanilla notes. Excellent structure, full-bodied and balanced. The enveloping tannic texture leads to a pleasant and persistent fruity finish. Serving temperature: between 18 and 20 °C Food pairings: Red meat, ribeye steak, veal and lamb cutlets, game, and aged cheeses.
