About this winery
Col d’Orcia literally means the hill overlooking the Orcia River. The Orcia River marks the South West border of the Brunello di Montalcino territory and the name of the farm is intrinsically linked to the physical location were the vineyards are planted. It is the mission of Col d’Orcia to produce the best possible wines that the exceptional combination of soil and climate of this part of Montalcino can achieve.

Product notes
Montalcino - Sant'Angelo hill overlooking the Orcia River. Medium-density soils with some limestone pebbles.
Production notes
Each variety ferments separately in stainless steel vats for about 20 days of maceration, then undergoes malolactic fermentation in concrete vats. The wine is then transferred to barrels and casks in spring 2018.
Tasting notes
An intense ruby red wine with a deep colour, Nearco stands out for its complex and elegant bouquet. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of ripe red fruits — blackberry, black cherry, plum — harmoniously enhanced by spicy notes of black pepper, liquorice and a subtle hint of oak from its barrel ageing. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied, supported by a silky, well-integrated tannic structure. The balance between freshness, rich fruit and spices makes this a harmonious wine with a long, aromatic finish. Its complexity and depth make it an ideal accompaniment to grilled meats, game, mushroom dishes and mature cheeses. Serve between 16 and 18°C to appreciate its full expression.
