About this winery
Col d’Orcia literally means the hill overlooking the Orcia River. The Orcia River marks the South West border of the Brunello di Montalcino territory and the name of the farm is intrinsically linked to the physical location were the vineyards are planted. It is the mission of Col d’Orcia to produce the best possible wines that the exceptional combination of soil and climate of this part of Montalcino can achieve.

Product notes
Originating from the hills of Montalcino, Spezieri benefits from a unique terroir characterised by well-drained soils composed of galestro (clayey schist) and clay, rich in minerals. This typically Tuscan soil, combined with a Mediterranean climate with significant temperature variations, promotes optimal ripening of the grapes, giving the wine freshness, balance and aromatic expression.
Production notes
The grapes are hand-harvested at full maturity to ensure optimal quality. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature, preserving the freshness and aromatic intensity of the grape varieties. A short maceration favors the extraction of pure fruit flavors and soft tannins. The wine is then aged for a few months in tanks before bottling, maintaining its youthful, fruity, and approachable character.
Tasting notes
Bright ruby red wine, Spezieri reveals an expressive nose of ripe red fruits, cherry, and black cherry, enhanced by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is smooth, fruity, and well-balanced, with soft tannins and a long, fresh, and pleasant finish. Easy to drink, it pairs beautifully with everyday dishes such as pizza, pasta, cured meats, or grilled white meats. Highly versatile, it can also be enjoyed slightly chilled during the summer. Serve between 14 and 16 °C
