Product notes

The Guigal Condrieu comes from the steep granite terroirs of the Northern Rhône Valley, where the Viognier vines benefit from well-drained granite soils, ideal for bringing out the finesse and aromatic richness of the grape variety. The grapes are hand-harvested to ensure a rigorous selection of perfectly ripe clusters. This careful attention throughout production contributes to the wine’s pure and elegant expression, characterized by its freshness, minerality, and intense fruit and floral aromas.

Production notes

The Viognier vines, aged between 25 and 30 years, are grown on steep terraced slopes with optimal exposure. Harvesting is done manually with a rigorous selection of the grapes. The winemaking process includes alcoholic fermentation carried out 33% in new oak barrels and 67% in stainless steel tanks, followed by a complete malolactic fermentation. The aging lasts approximately 8 months, divided between 33% in new oak barrels and 67% in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting notes

With remarkable aromatic purity, enhanced by a smooth roundness, this wine is the true expression of the Viognier grape variety, with aromas of white peach and apricot. It has a bright and clear golden yellow color. The nose is very intense with floral notes (violet) and fruity aromas (apricot, white peach, and citrus). It combines freshness and roundness, with plenty of body, richness, and creaminess for a dry wine. There is a harmony between a beautiful freshness and fruit enveloped in a fleshy roundness. This vintage shows remarkable minerality. Perfect with foie gras, truffle scrambled eggs, and delicate fish dishes. For optimal tasting, it is recommended to serve this wine between 12°C and 13°C.
