About this winery

Villa Castorani is located in Alanno, in the rolling hills of Pescara at 350 meters above sea level, at the heart of the CASAURIA DOCG. Product notes

The terroir lies in the hills of the Pescara province, between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines. The soils are clay-limestone and well-drained. The Mediterranean climate is marked by warm summers and sea breezes, with a good thermal amplitude, ideal for balanced grape ripening.

Production notes

This wine is made from passerina grapes hand-picked in early September. After gentle pressing, the must is cold clarified, then fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperature to preserve varietal characteristics. The wine is then aged on fine lees for several months. It is bottled in the spring following the harvest.

Tasting notes

This wine has a pale yellow color with green highlights. On the nose, it reveals fresh aromas of lemon, green apple, white flowers and a hint of iodine. On the palate, it's lively and fresh, with balanced acidity, citrus flavors and a saline finish. Served chilled between 8 and 10°C, it goes perfectly with oysters, shrimps, grilled fish such as sea bream or sea bass, fennel and citrus salads, and fresh cheeses such as ricotta or mozzarella. Enjoy it young, within two years, for its freshness and liveliness.
