Product notes

Blend of grapes grown mainly on loess soils, with vinification carried out in stainless steel tanks (Classic). Very minor oak aging is applied depending on the “Leopoldiwein” cuvées.

Production notes

The Pratsch Zweigelt is made from carefully hand-harvested grapes. The fermentation is natural, without the addition of selected yeasts, in order to fully respect the character of the terroir. The wine is lightly filtered to preserve its organoleptic qualities while ensuring good stability. The estate practices environmentally friendly viticulture, with manual soil work and minimal use of inputs.

Tasting notes

The color is dark ruby, sometimes enhanced with violet highlights. The nose is intensely fruity, revealing aromas of raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry jam, accompanied by notes of black cherry, white pepper, and red licorice. On the palate, the attack is juicy with medium to slightly marked acidity, soft tannins, and a notable fruity concentration, finishing with a slightly tart, medium-length finish. The recommended serving temperature is between 18 and 20 °C, or between 19 and 21 °C for the fuller-bodied versions such as the "Kittel" cuvée.
