Product notes

Lirac Héritage d’Aqueria draws all its authenticity and richness from an exceptional terroir, composed of clay-sandy soils scattered with numerous rolled pebbles. These pebbles, typical of southern terroirs, play an essential role in the optimal ripening of the grapes by releasing the heat accumulated from the sun during the day back to the vines at night. This climatic feature promotes a slow and harmonious development of the grapes, allowing the Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre varieties to reach perfect maturity. The clay soils, meanwhile, provide the wine with beautiful freshness and a balanced structure, while the sand contributes to its finesse and elegance.

Production notes

Produced only in exceptional vintages, the Lirac Héritage d’Aqueria is crafted with particular attention at every stage. Harvesting often takes place at night or early in the morning, when temperatures are cooler, to preserve the freshness of the grapes. The Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre grape varieties are vinified separately before being carefully blended. The wine is then aged mainly in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months, with a portion aged in stainless steel or concrete tanks to maintain its freshness. This precise balance of winemaking and aging ensures a powerful and elegant wine, true to its terroir and its exceptional vintage.

Tasting notes

Lirac Héritage d’Aqueria reveals a beautiful aromatic complexity on the nose, combining ripe red fruit notes such as cherry and raspberry with spicy and slightly peppery hints characteristic of Mourvèdre. On the palate, it stands out with a fine structure, silky and well-integrated tannins, offering a perfect balance between power and finesse. Its mineral freshness, inherited from its clay-sandy terroir, brings a lovely length to the finish, while the aromatic intensity remains precise and elegant throughout the tasting. To fully enjoy it, this wine is ideally served between 16 and 18°C (61 to 64°F), a temperature that allows it to express its full aromatic richness while maintaining freshness. Lirac Héritage d’Aqueria pairs wonderfully with flavorful dishes such as roasted leg of lamb, grilled meats, game stew, or aged cheeses. Its balance of power and finesse also makes it an excellent companion for spiced Mediterranean cuisine.
