About this winery

Kopke existed even before there was a Demarcated Region of the Douro. Established in 1638, the oldest Port wine house built an impeccable reputation based on the highest quality. A leader in the production of Port Tawny Colheita wines, including white port, Kopke has a remarkable range of special category Ports, also producing excellent DOC Douro wines.

Production notes

Harvested by hand. Maceration with skins on for 10 hours, with fermentation in French oak barrels (30% new). - Aged in these same barrels for 6 months using the "battonage" method.

Tasting notes

Lemon-yellow colour. Expressive nose, with aromas of fruit, fine toast and light spice from the barrel. Remarkably creamy and with perfect acidity. Vigorous and persistent finish.
