Product notes
The Rio Belo Red DOC comes from vineyards located in the Douro region of Portugal. The vines grow on schist soils, typical of this area, which provide excellent drainage and retain the heat needed for optimal grape ripening. The Mediterranean climate, with its hot summers and cool winters, promotes a perfect balance between acidity and aromatic concentration. These terroir conditions contribute to the richness and complexity of the wine.
Production notes
The harvest of the Rio Belo Red DOC is carried out manually to ensure a rigorous selection of the grapes. The winemaking involves long macerations in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to extract color, aromas, and tannins. The wine is then aged in tanks to preserve its freshness and fruity expression.
Tasting notes
The Rio Belo Red DOC shows a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by subtle notes of sweet spices and licorice. On the palate, it is generous and balanced, with silky tannins and a nice freshness that brings liveliness. The finish is long, marked by a delicate spicy and fruity touch. This wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 16 to 18 °C. It pairs perfectly with grilled red meats, slow-cooked dishes like beef bourguignon, as well as aged cheeses.
