About this winery
Robert Villepigue, director of Château Figeac from 1905 to 1928 then owner of Château Cadet Piolat had the idea of creating a cooperative winery in Saint-Emilion in the 1930s. In 1966, the winery was recognized as a producer group. Its activity then extended to the 8 communes of the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) "Saint-Emilion" Today, the Union of Producers represents more than 12% of all AOC Saint-Emilion.

Product notes
The vines of Galius grow on the characteristic terroirs of Saint-Émilion, mainly composed of clay-limestone soils with layers of gravel and sand. This well-drained soil brings finesse and structure to the grapes, promoting a balance between power and elegance in the wine.
Production notes
The winemaking of Galius combines tradition and modernity. After careful sorting, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to extract finesse and intensity. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, where it develops complexity and silky tannins before bottling.
Tasting notes
A charming wine with a beautiful ruby hue. The nose reveals lovely toasted aromas mingled with ripe fruit upon aeration. The palate is generous, smooth, and full-bodied, supported by velvety tannins. A fine age-worthy wine with very delicate oak influence. Serve at room temperature with a nice ribeye steak on a bed of shallots. Ideal serving temperature: 16 to 18°C.
