Product notes
Alluvial soils between 1,000 and 1,100 meters above sea level. The average annual temperature is 14°C. The combination of high altitude, alluvial soils, irrigation from the Andes Mountains, a long growing season with over 250 sunny days per year, low rainfall, and significant temperature differences between day and night creates ideal conditions for growing high-quality grapes.
Production notes
Grapes were hand-harvested into plastic crates during the first and second week of April. They were destemmed and crushed, then underwent cold maceration for 5–7 days before traditional fermentation with indigenous yeasts at 77°F (25–27°C). The must then macerated for 20 days with periodic pump-overs and rack-and-return. A portion of the wine was aged in French oak barrels.
Tasting notes
To the eye, this wine displays an intense, bright purple-red color, reflecting its youth and concentration. The nose is immediately captivating with its complexity, blending aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, violet, chocolate, and tobacco, enhanced by sweet spices like black pepper. On the palate, the attack is smooth and velvety, supported by firm yet ripe tannins that give structure without rigidity. The texture is rich, while the long, juicy finish elegantly extends the fruity and spicy notes. The balance between ripe fruit richness, the freshness provided by altitude, and delicate oak nuances defines a dry red wine that is structured, fruity, and spicy—both approachable and refined. Best enjoyed between 15 °C and 17 °C, this wine can be appreciated now or cellared for 3 to 5 years to further develop its complexity.
