The family winery Boisseaux-Estivant was founded in the late 19th century. It was then acquired by the Ponnelle family, a family which owns a wine trading company in the commune of Beaune. The activities of the trading company began in the 1870s, under the leadership of Pierre-Lazarre Ponnelle. His son Albert later decides to found his own house. The Albert Ponnelle company still exists today. Albert's son, Louis Ponnelle, succeeds him, followed by his own son, Pierre Ponnelle, who now runs the house. With its long-standing trading activities, the house offers nearly 40 cuvées from the Côte de Beaune and Nuits, i.e. 11 white wines and 27 red wines. The company also owns vines which it cultivates according to the principles of agrobiology, but without claiming certification. There are 5% Aligoté, 30% Chardonnay, and 65% Pinot Noir, which allows it to make wines in the Burgundy, Chambolle-Musigny, Musigny, Beaune, Nuits St-Georges, Savigny- les-Beaune and Saint-Romain.
