About this winery

It all began at the dinner table. Charlie Wagner Sr. (Caymus Vineyards) would mix wines to find the perfect glass to pair with his meal. No one blended wines back then, so his experiment was pretty radical. Fast forward to 1989, when Conundrum White was born, quickly taking off with its mysterious, tropical notes and amazing versatility. Today, it’s his grandson, Charlie II, who keeps Conundrum as original as ever.

Production notes

Vinification of each grape separately, to promote their individual characteristics. Some are aged in refrigerated stainless steel tanks to retain crisp, fresh aromas and fruit flavors, and some in a combination of old and new barrels. Aging in French oak barrels for up to ten months. Also individual aging, blending at bottling.

Tasting notes

Golden sun color. This wine opens with aromas of fresh and delicate fruits - apricot, pear, green apple, citrus and peach. The crisp and bright aromas continue on the palate, with crisp acidity. The oily texture fills the mouth with voluptuous fruit. The finish offers a distinct crunchy lemon / lime character. Serve with salmon, spicy dishes, Californian salmon salad.
