Château Suau is today a beautiful 82-hectare property, located south of the village of Capian, 35 km from Bordeaux. The 66 hectares of vines, in one piece, surround the farm buildings. The vineyard produces wines in the appellations Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux, Côtes de Bordeaux, dry white and rosé Bordeaux, & sweet Cadillac. From a geographic point of view, it is located on the highest point of the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, an altitude of 100 meters. The terroir is mainly composed of clay and gravel. The different grape varieties are adapted to the predominant type of soil (clay, rocky, stony). The south-south-east exposure at the top of the hills allows both ideal vineyard sunshine and natural soil drainage. The vineyard is surrounded by forests and hedges, aiming to maintain biodiversity and a balance between cultivated and wild areas. In 2008, Château Suau began its conversion to organic farming. Since the 2014 vintage, after a process of 6 years, all the wines produced are Ecocert certified and are produced under the direction of Michel Rolland. The density of the vineyard is 5,000 to 7,000 vines per hectare, a high density to guarantee a high quality level.
